I get to talk about my favorite new saltwater fly rod, one more time.

If you read my review of the new Scott Meridian, you already know I’m a fan. I’ll not bore you again with my analysis of the rod. I love it, enough said. Here’s your chance to hear from Jim Bartschi, the man who designed it. Jim lays out some of the new features and tells us what he was thinking when he designed the Meridian. If you wander how Jim designs such great rods, just take a look at his face in this video! The tan tan all.

  1. Loving my 7wt for sure. Matched up with my Galvan reels and Airflow ridge lines it is an incredibly light set up. I seriously may have to sell and replace my existing 8’s and 9’s as the Meridian is a really impressive step up.

  2. I was a big fan of the S4s already, especially the short combat sticks. The Radian was one of my to go rods (7 weight single and speyrod) in Argentina, chasing big Searuns myself or as a guide with clients. I was very stoked when Rene from Manic Tackle Project (NZ Distribution) showed me some protos of the Meridian early 2015. Ever since, I have been pushing these sticks around… mistreated them, really abused them and they hold up. Fast but powerful with a ton of lifting power! I fish the 7, 9 and 11. I freaking love em.
