Splitting Cane
I have Made Bamboo rods for nearly fifteen years and I have never heard the process described so beautifully. Erin Block deserves a great cane rod.

Thanks for the shout, Louis…much appreciated! I’m starting on wrapping this morning!
Thanks for the inspired work. I can’t wait to see that rod!
What a find. I have read more than a few books about bamboo rods and their making, but nothing compares to this. I could not stop reading, and of course had to go to the beginning. Erin’s blog site is incredible! There is reading there to last till the redfish move back up into the marsh in the spring. Thank you Louis for the link and thank you Erin for the wonderful words.
Glad you enjoyed it. That gal can write for sure. I always enjoy her work.
Although Erin would be the last or probably least likely to agree with me on this, I sincerely doubt that whether it’s building cane, tying flies or cooking dinner that she does anything half-ass. The lady kicks ass!
I could not agree more.
