Everyone has a Lefty story. Mine is I knew him thru mutual best friends having been from Baltimore. He spent a lot of time tying flies, but many were given to him, like my wife who ties gave him several that wound up in Fly Fishing In Salt Waters. He once tried to buy a Seamaster Reel from Tochterman’s fishing shop in Baltimore, but Tony would never sell it to him, they remained great friends for decades. Tochterman’s remains the oldest family owned tackle shop in the country, over 100 years, and featured him many times giving classes. On one of the classes Lefty took a map book I had from the Keys and drew the best tarpon areas with tides, something I’ll never forget.
