Here are some great Christmas gift ideas for the fly fishing enthusiast on your list.

The tree is up, the elf is on the shelf and the Holiday shopping panic is in full swing. If you’re like me, you need a little help with your Santa duties this time of year. We are lucky to get the chance to try out tons of cool fly fishing gear each season. Here’s a list of stuff we love and are sure the anglers on your list will love as well.

Umpqua LT Fly Boxes

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-11.55.09-AMThe new fly boxes from Umpqua use an injection molded TPE interface to house your flies. Not only is this TPE material lighter than silicone, but the low memory of the material allows for better grip of your flies. The LT boxes are slim and come in a variety of styles!

Fishpond Quick Shot Holder

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.05.34-PMIf we’re being honest, the Quickshot Holder from Fishpond was designed predominantly for flats fishing where a different species might present itself and require a lightning fast rod change. Made to attach to Fishpond’s waterproof packs, the Quickshot is also perfect for the angler who can’t decide whether to throw dries, nymphs, or streamers on a trout stream. We’ve lugged extra rods around on trout streams and it usually results in frustration and sometimes a broken rod. Never again!

Orvis Nippers

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.08.21-PMIn the increasingly more populated nipper world, Orvis dropped in from the top rope with the hardest blade steel in the business. Machined and assembled in the United States and not quite as expensive as others on the market, these new Orvis Nippers are one of our favorite fly fishing accessories for 2017/2018.

Sightline Provisions Trout 2.0 Bracelet

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.11.39-PMLooking for a unique, hand-crafted way to show off your passion for chasing our finned friends? The leather bracelet made by Edgar Diaz of Texas is your answer. The Anglers Pint

AnglersPint_LGI’m forced to admit it, you can’t fish all the time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t always be thinking of fishing. These beautiful pint glasses feature artists renderings of the fish we love, so we can admire them while we do that other thing we enjoy.

Finn Utility Fly Hatband

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.20.44-PMA little something for the classic angler. This hatband made from quality leather fits a wide range of hats. It sports a handy wool drying patch for flies. No need to destroy that nice hat with this handy stocking stuffer.

Abel Super Series

Simms Dry Creek Z Hip Pack

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.28.18-PMMore and more, we find ourselves hitting the water with expensive electronics, phones, and cameras. The new, fully submersible Dry Creek Z Hip Pack is our favorite new waterproof pack for one reason. The gage of the waterproof zipper. For once on a zippered waterproof bag, it’s small. That means it’s easier to open and close. Which is good.

Rising Net

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.34.47-PMThe Rising Net is the ultimate fishing multi-tool built with quality that is immediately felt in the hand. Net your fish and carry your days spirits all in one USA-made net. Net the fish of your year and celebrate immediately afterwards.

Orvis H3 3D Fly Rod

Scott G-Series Fly Rod

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.43.40-PMMedium action fly rods are back in a big way with the new Scott G-Series fly rod. The good people at Scott improved on a classic (the old G2). The feel and touch that the G-Series provides is second to known and is perfect for throwing dry flies all summer long.

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.54.55-PMThe fully-machined, large-arbor fly reel has all the makings of a fly reel with a much higher price tag, including a one revolution drag knob with numbered and detented settings.

Simms Rogue Fleece Hoody

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.57.31-PMWe love the Rogue Fleece Hoody because this hoody is at home whether you’re the water or at the bar. The new two-tone colors are spot on.

Whiskey Leatherworks

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.00.05-PMEvery angler needs a good flask, and Montana-based Whiskey Leatherworks has you covered. Their beautiful Clark Fork copper flask is wrapped with quality, genuine Horween Leather and sewn with either traditional sinew or recycled fly line sourced from our friends over at Fly Vines. They also offer monogramming on most of their products, such as belts, bags, and billfolds, adding an elegant personal touch.

Tacky Predator Box

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.03.32-PMLooking for a box that’s big enough to carry your favorite streamers, yet small enough to carry in your pack? Tacky released its all-new Predator Box to meet the needs of the streamer loving freaks who are fans of their original boxes. The slotted, silicone ensures easy in-and-out, and prevents larger hooks from chewing up the inserts. Each box comes with and handful of Wishbones to help corral articulated patterns.

Echo Bad Ass Glass Quick Shot

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.07.55-PMEcho took their popular B.A.G. fiberglass rod, shortened it to 8ft, and created a more powerful, faster rod that throws like a cannon while maintaining the fish-fighting-forgiveness that we love with glass rods. Available in 6wt-10wt, the Quick Shot B.A.G. is able to handle any big fish situation.

Rio Flats Pro

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.13.17-PMAble to carry heavy flies into a stiff breeze, yet supple enough to resist memory, the new Rio Flats Pro will quickly become your go-to saltwater fly line. With a tri-color head to aide in distance control and a head designed to load today’s saltwater-action rods, this line is at home on the bow of a flats boat.

G. Loomis IMX Pro

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.15.47-PMIf you’re looking for high performance found at a middle price-point, then look no further than the new IMX PRO.  This workhorse rod took top honors at ICAST this year and was designed to be a do-it-all rod with input from fishing guides across the industry. Plan D Pack and Pack Max Fly Boxes

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.18.33-PMFor those anglers searching for a better option to store their intruder style flies, look no further. Plan D Fishing uses a configuration of hooks along with slotted foam in order to easily store these flies. The Pack and the Pack Max allow you to choose different storage variations to suit every angler’s needs. Also, check out their Pocket and Boat models.

Airflo Shovelhead

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-1.20.14-PMDesigned by Kelly Galloup, Airflo’s new Shovelhead fly line is built around chucking big streamers in search of bigger fish. With its aggressive, weight-forward taper and fast sinking tip, your fly will get down to the strike zone faster, which means you’ll be putting your fly in front of more fish! Offered in 280G and 330G, you’ll be covered for all of your streamer needs.

Whether you’re shopping for an angling loved one or sorting out what to do with some stocking cash, I hope this list was helpful. Have a joyous and fishy Holiday season.
