Last year’s contest was a huge success and we can’t wait to see what you and that camera of yours have been up to all year. We have a panel of rock star judges lined up, so get those entries in.

This year’s esteemed judges include:

Tosh Brown  toshbrown.com

A fly fishing photographer of such importance he needs no introduction, but here it is anyway.

Tosh Brown is a freelance photographer from Austin, Texas. He’s had no formal training with a camera, and owns six file cabinets stuffed with 35mm slides that will never see the light of day. Tosh has a vise and some feathers and most of his original fly patterns are 7-8 inches long. He has eaten two potential IGFA world records.

Steve Seinberg  www.stevenseinberg.com    www.southerncultureonthefly.com

The mad genius behind Southern Culture on the Fly Steve is not only a talented photographer but an accomplished painter.

Steve was born in Brooklyn but quickly left to be reborn as a southerner. now lives in Asheville. He was worked as a fine art painter for 20 years, but working with galleries gets boring. So he now takes photographs and does art direction for Southern Culture On the Fly just for the glory and schwag (and to hang out with Louis). He loves turtles and hates mayonnaise and Christmas.

Arian Camilleri  www.shutterblind.com    www.ariancamilleri.com

A New York advertising photographer on the cutting edge of art and commerce.

BORN IN MAINE. LIVED DOWN THE STREET FROM STEPHEN KING. LIVED IN WASHINGTON STATE. ON A GOAT FARM. MOVED BACK TO MAINE. LIVED IN A TEEPEE. GOT A DOG. WON THE PINEWOOD DERBY RACE. MOVED TO GEORGIA. WENT TO COLLEGE FOR BUSINESS. DIDN’T LIKE IT. STARTED TAKING PHOTOS WITH DISPOSABLE CAMERAS. BOUGHT A REAL CAMERA. READ THE MANUAL. ATTENDED THE CREATIVE CIRCUS. LIKED IT. WON TWENTY OR SO AWARDS. MOVED TO TOKYO. GREAT IDEA. MET A GEISHA. MOVED TO NYC. SHOT SOME COMMERCIAL AND EDITORIAL WORK. CO-CREATED A PORTRAIT PROJECT CALLED HUMAN°. STARTED MAKING FINE ART WORK. SERIOUSLY. DID SOME GALLERY SHOWS. HAVE GREAT CLIENTS. LOVE MY JOB.

HERE’S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET IN ON THE ACTION.

•The contest is open to everyone except me, Kent and the judges.

•Limit three submissions per person, that’s three photos so a triptych counts as three.

•Images should relate to fly fishing in some way and have been shot in 2012.

•All submissions must be made by email to hookups@ginkandgasoline.com

•Photos should be jpeg format and 1000 pixels at their longest dimension.

•Please use the subject line, “Photo Contest” for your email

•File names should be your full name plus a # 01-03. So my file name, for example, would be louiscahill_01.jpg , louiscahill_02.jpg , louiscahill_03.jpg

•All submissions must be in by midnight EST on January 8th 2013.

•Winners will be announced the week of the 18th. OK, probably on the 18th, but I want to give our judges a little wiggle room. They are doing us a big favor.

•All prizes will be shipped directly from our sponsors.

•Photographers retain all rights to their work, We only ask that we can use the photos on G&G, within the context of the contest and with proper credit to the photographer.

We can’t wait to see what you’ve been shooting this year so, get those entries in and win some cool gear! I’d like to offer a big thank you to Montana Fly Co, Rio, Fishpond, Sage and Redington for donating these cool prizes.

Good Luck!
Come fish with us in the Bahamas!
